The Export models
.
This is a list of modifications done on the Export models according to an official Innocenti paper of that time.

Common modifications to the Mini 1000, 1001 and Cooper 1300:

A: New rod change type gearbox: this new system is more precise and smooth in operation;

B: Steering lock introduced that satisfies European standard torsional tests;

C: Two rear strap holds;

D: New switches: all the toggle switches have been replaced with new lever switches for security reasons in case of an accident according to an international law;

E: New badges to distinguish the Export series.

Common modifications to the Mini 1000 and 1001

A: Horns have been changed to electric two tone ones, already been used on the Cooper 1300;

B: New two speed windscreen wipers controlled by a three position switch (off, slow, fast);

C: Handbrake: a red warning light on the heater front cover indicates when the handbrake is pulled;

Modifications to the Mini 1001 and Cooper 1300

A: Windscreen washer system now has an electric pump that enables a faster and easier operation;

Modifications to the Mini Cooper 1300

A: Braking system: the new system has a split line (front and rear) which improves safety. The brake servo is kept and only operates the front breakes. While braking, if the fluid pressure is too low this will light the handbrake warning light. Brake cylinder reservoir is transparent in order to facilitate fluid checking.

B: Exhaust pipe: The third silencer has been modified as well as the exhaust path in order to decrease the noise level but without compromising power output.

C: Steering column attachment and parcel shelf: the structures of the parcel shelf and the steering column attachment have been modified to make them more easily deformed under an accident, therefore absorbing greater impact energy. This lessens the amount the steering enters into the vehicle.
