This is the ultimate Inno you could have,
perhaps not the most valuable amongst the Innocenti Minis as the 998cc
Coopers are slightly more valuable (here in Italy), but without a doubt
this is the top of Innocenti Minis. Powerful engine, lovely interior,
improved road holding are some of the many characteristics that made it
so popular at the time and so much loved still now. It was introduced in
1972, it had the 1275cc engine which was a hybrid of the GT and Cooper S
engines mounted on British Minis.
It developed 71bhp @ 5800rpm, 79.6lb/ft @ 3200rpm while the GT and
Cooper S developed 60bhp @ 5250rpm, 69.5lb/ft @ 2500rpm and 76bhp @
6000rpm,79lb/ft @ 3000rpm respectively. The Cooper 1300 and Mini 1000
where actually the Mk4 although they were never denominated as such.
They had abandoned the hydrolastic suspension and changed to the 'dry'
suspension with rubber cones. The Cooper 1300 was produced in three
versions, 'Mini Cooper 1300', 'Mini Cooper 1300 Export' and another
limited edition version based on the Export model.
